KATANA BLADE: The blade is constructed from 1060 High Carbon steel in the Maru style, hand polished using Japanese water stones, and heat treated and oil quenched. Forged with a full tang, its hand honed, extremely sharp blade is built for cutting.

HANDLE/ TSUKA: The handle is made of hardwood with genuine inlaid same’gawa. The ito features alternating crossovers in the hinerimaki style for durability. The tsuba, Fuchi and Koshira are metal alloy with a flower theme, while the habaki and seppa are made of brass. The tsuka is secured to the tang by two bamboo Mekugi pegs.

KATANA SHEATH: The saya for the sword katana is hardwood with a black gloss finish, and the sageo is synthetic silk tied over a wooden kurigata with golden shitedome. The kurikata (knot) is placed the proper distance from the koiguchi to allow the user to easily release the sword from the saya.
