Handmade Sword - Samurai Wakizashi Sword, 1060 Carbon Steel, Sharp Blade

This fully handmade quality Japanese Samurai Wakizashi Sword features a high carbon steel blade that is heat tempered and can be bent but will return to its original shape. The sharp edge is hand sharpened by a Japanese whetstone, and the sword has an obvious Hamon (tempered line) that has been hand polished. The long Hi (blood groove) on each side adds to the functionality of the blade.

The Tsuka (handle) is made of genuine Rayskin and wrapped in black Japanese cotton Ito with Menuki (ornament). The Saya (scabbard) is made of black piano lacquered wood and comes with a black cotton Sageo. The full tang is engraved with the blacksmith's signature, and the Tsuba (guard) features an iron dancing crane design. Other fittings are made of brass.

This Wakizashi comes in a brand new condition and can be fully disassembled and assembled. It has a blade thickness of 0.3", a blade length (with Habaki) of 20.9", a handle length of 9.4", and an overall length (with Saya) of 32.9". The weight is 2 lb 3 oz with the Saya and 1 lb 13 oz without the Saya. The package includes the assembled Wakizashi with Saya, a Wakizashi bag, and a tube Wakizashi box.
