Practical Hand Forged Samurai Katana Sword with Dragon Tsuba

Fully hand forged, the blade of this 1045 carbon steel Japanese Samurai Katana sword is heat tempered and features a blood groove on each side. The obvious hamon is hand-polished, and the edge is sharp and hand-sharpened using a traditional Japanese stone. The handle, or Tsuka, is made of genuine Same (Rayskin) and wrapped with black Japanese Cotton Ito(Braid), complete with ornamental Menuki. The full tang blade has two Mekugi (peg) and is engraved with the blacksmith's signature.

The scabbard, or Saya, is made of black lacquered wood with a dragon pattern and is tied with a black cotton Sageo (cord). The blade measures 28.0 inches with the Habaki, and the handle measures 10.6 inches, with an overall length of 41.3 inches. The weight of the sword with the Saya is 2.9 lbs, and 2.1 lbs without the Saya. The package weight is 6 lbs, and it includes the assembled Katana with Saya, a black cotton Katana bag, and a Tube Katana box.
