The blade is made of Spring Steel (60si2mn Steel) and is oil quenched and heat treated to increase its hardness, typically in the range of 56-57 HRC. This results in a hard blade with excellent sharpness, and its toughness allows it to be bent up to 30° without deformation.

The blade's high temperature baked Black process gives it a rust-resistant finish, but it can still be scratched when in contact with sharp objects. It has the ability to effortlessly pass through A4 paper and bamboo. The Tantou's size makes it difficult to apply force, so caution is advised when using it near hard objects to prevent injury.

The overall length of the Tantou is 20.47 inches, with a blade length of 12.5 inches, and the Saya length is 13.5 inches. The handle measures 5.9 inches, while the blade width near the habaki is 1.257 inches, and the blade thickness is 0.28 inches. The blade material is Spring Steel (60si2mn Steel/9260) with an oil quenching treatment. The Hamon is a fake Hamon (achieved through polishing), and the blade comes sharp with a full tang. It features a black baked finish, and includes blood groove.

The Tsuka (handle) is made of hard wood and is wrapped with genuine and alloy menuki, artificial leather, and one peg, with a full tang. The Saya is made of wood with a purple paint finish, and the Tsuba is made of iron.
