This is a fully hand forged Blade, heat tempered, and made from Carbon Steel 1045. It features a blood groove (Hi) on each side and a distinct real Harmon hand polished edge. The blade is sharp and hand sharpened by Japanese craftsmen.
The handle is made of genuine same (Ray) skin and is engraved with the blacksmith's signature. The scabbard (Saia) is made of black lacquered wood with black cotton sageo (cord). The edge hardness is HRC 55 and the back hardness is HRC 45.
The blade length, including the hibachi, is 28.0 inches, with a handle length of 10.6 inches, and an overall length, including the saia, of 41.3 inches. The weight with the saia is 2.7 lbs, and without the saia is 2.1 lbs.
This 1045 Fully Handmade Quality Japanese Samurai Katana Sword is full tang, with a sharp edge, and is fully functional. It has an approximate blade length of 28.2 inches, a handle length of 10.6 inches, and an overall length of 41 inches.
The wooden handle is wrapped with ray skin and black cotton cord, with Menuki. The scabbard is black piano lacquered wood with black sageo.
